Success does leaves clues and one of the keys to any of my success is my ability to emulate and mimic successful people. Being successful isn't a special talent and I don't view myself as being special or having some extraordinary ability.
If you want to become successful, then you need to learn from the best in the world. When I was playing hockey my only goal as a young boy was to become a professional hockey player. I never did make the NHL however I came pretty close. How did I become a good hockey player? I studied and watched the pros. I would record all the highlights and watch how the goalies would move from side to side and emulate their movements in my living room. I was probably 10 years old at the time and I would put on half of my goalie equipment along with a super ball and I would copy their movements down to the T.
How does this relate in business? There is only one reason your business isn’t where you want it to be today, and that reason is lack of knowledge. If you knew how to build a $100-million-dollar company, then you would have by now. You can't have the knowledge because this is uncharted waters for you. If your business is doing $500,000 per year in revenue, then sitting down with someone who's doing $100 million is going to be hard.
Grant Cardone is the author of the 10X Rule, the premise of the book is to take your target and multiply it by 10. If your business had $500,000 in revenue last year then this year’s target is now $5,000,000. So how do you get there? You need to pay attention to what other successful people are doing and be hungry for knowledge. Learn from the people who have already reached a level you would like to be at.
I have many mentors, Anthony Robbins, Bob Proctor and Grant Cardone to name a few, and all of them bring something different to the table. They are also all worth over $100 million, I know Anthony Robbins group of companies did $5 billion in revenge.
I study them, I watch them on videos, I listen to them, I emulate them I mimic them over and over again. Actually after a while I start sounding like them. WHY do I do this? Because I want to reach the frequency they are on. At my frequency I cannot reach $5 billion in revenue so I need to grow, learn, change and adapted. I've realized that the only major difference between myself and anyone else is that I learned at the age of 10 years old how to emulate and mimic the best in the world.
Remember Success is the manifestation of the image you hold of yourself in your mind, you must have a vision of your life and of yourself.
Continue growing, continue learning and stay hungry.
